About Alma Way
I'm John Reece, the founder of The Alma Way. I hold a master's degree in Psychological Therapies from The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and completed advanced training in EMDR post qualification. For over a decade, I have worked with complex trauma in high-intensity clinical settings, including Major Trauma Centres in Central London and specialist services.

This experience has shaped a detailed understanding of how sustained pressure affects confidence, clarity, decision-making, and emotional regulation. The same adaptive responses that support individuals in high-stakes environments can, over time, contribute to performance anxiety, self-doubt, or difficulty maintaining focus.

When anxiety, confidence blocks, or stress responses are rooted in deeper, underlying patterns, coaching, insight, and strategy alone may not be enough.
Alma Way was founded to provide specialised psychological support for performance and wellbeing, combining rigorous evidence-based practice with my ability to form strong, trusted relationships that are central to driving real change.
Organisational Support
In addition to individual performance-focused work, I offer structured psychological support for organisations seeking to provide more general wellbeing support. Retainer options are available. Support may include:
-
Ongoing monthly wellbeing sessions
-
Parent support, for staff needing a space to think about their child or teenager
-
Support for neurodivergent staff
-
Limited weekly block bookings for staff (5/10 sessions)
-
Brief therapy options
